He graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a degree in Forestry and came West in 1974 to start his career with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) as a Forester in the BLM’s Redding District in California. Throughout his career, Henri Bisson received numerous leadership awards and commendations, including two Meritorious Presidential Rank awards, and several Secretarial Executive Leadership Awards.
Since retirement, Henri has served as President of the Public Lands Foundation for three years; he has served on the Advisory Council for the Teddy Roosevelt Conservation Partnership; he has been on the Board of Directors for the Sonoran Institute for three years, two of which were as Chairman of the Board; and he continues to work as advisor to private companies helping to provide mitigation for large solar facilities being built in the California Desert.
