Don began his Federal Career as a Wilderness Ranger in the USFS Eagle Cap Wilderness. He then took an Outdoor Recreation Planner position, with the BLM, and worked in the Barstow, CA RAO, the Yuma, AZ RAO and Lake Havasu, AZ DO in the 1980s and 1990s. Don became the BLM AZSO Recreation Program Lead, in 2000, until he retired in 2016. While in the AZSO, Don also served on BLM's National Recreation and Visitors Services Advisory Team, and as its chairperson.
