After graduating from Washington State U, Gerry worked for the BLM in Susanville, CA; Baker and Prineville, OR; Billings, MT; Rock Springs WY; Salt Lake City, UT as the DM (1971-1975) and DM in Riverside, CA/California Desert DO from 1976-1992 when he retired. After retiring Gerry was instrumental in establishing the Quadstate Local Governments Authority that is an organization of counties in AZ, CA, NV, and UT. Gerry was the Executive Director of the Authority when he passed away.
