Dick graduated, from Colorado A&M, with a BS in Forest Management. While in high school, he got a summer job with Forest Service. Dick manned a lookout, on Lake Pend’Oreille, in Sandpoint, ID during WWII. He started working, for the OR/WA BLM in the Eugene DO in 1954. Dick transferred to the Missoula FO, in 1961, and retired in 1998. He loved being a forester as his personalized license plate was OLD4STR.
